I've never heard of this type of bird, but I love your drawing. And the call sounds like a loud, squeaky hinge!
ReplyDeleteOk, I may have a new favorite. I do love my birds... This made me think of a book I just finished - are you familiar with Ralph Steadman? He's an artist - he illustrated a lot of Hunter S. Thompson's stuff. Anyway, last year he put out a book of paintings he did of extinct (or extinct-ish) birds that he did for an art show. It is AMAZING. It's called "Extinct Boids."
