Don't forget to Dance!

Don't Forget to Dance! print available here.

Dance, dance!  I felt like I needed a reminder to dance more and thought I would share this sentiment with the world.  Totally hanging this up near my computer!

It's crazy-snowing outside right now and I am quick-finishing up adding three new prints into my shop before heading out for a sketch-date at the Museum of Natural History (not a sketchy date, a date with a friend to sketch in our sketchbooks!)  It's nice to hibernate and all, but I go a little crazy-eyed if I don't leave the house at least once in the day!

Stay warm and cozy!

Red Pandas!

I've been a wee bit obsessed lately with cute little Red Pandas, so I decided to paint one!  Seriously, they are so freaking cute! Can't stand it!

Anyways, ahem.  I painted this 'lil guy with watercolors and acrylics on paper and made an 8"x10" print available in my Etsy shop!

What would this world be like without adorable fuzzy animals?!

Shop Update Part 3!

Okay, this is the last of the new paintings that I did for my 2011 calendar. I'm really excited about them, and had a lot of fun painting them. I was trying to think of happy moments that occur throughout the year, changing of the seasons, with friends, or by yourself, and tried to capture them for each month.

My calendar, with all these images and from the previous posts, will be ready in a week, when I get my printer back from the shop.

This one is probably my favorite of all!  This is for October, the season of dressing up and pretending and imagination.
"Cat Bandit"

This is for December, the month where I like to be cozy in sweaters and rock out!
"Rockin' Reindeer"

This is for June, the month where the farmer's markets start to get SUPER exciting and all the sunshine makes me ridiculously happy!
"Summer Ride"

This is for November, the cold month of bundling up and drinking lots of hot beverages!

And these two originals are gone already, but I have prints of them!

New Vinyl Record Paintings!

I'm REALLY excited about these! They were so much fun to make! I put the first half up in my Etsy store and I took the last six to Fuego 718 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. They are acrylic on old 7" vinyl records. I haven't used acrylics in a long time, so it was fun to step outside my comfort zone (of watercolors). I'm working on a series of old books next...

These ones are at Fuego 718, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn:

Also, I'm going to Six Flags in NJ tomorrow and I'm SO EXCITED! Bring on the rollercoasters! I haven't been to an amusement park in such a long time!

Shop Update!

Hello! What's shaking??? Busy here, prepping for my Peru trip, lots of painting, finishing up miscellaneous projects and cooking up new ones. Not too much in the actual cooking department; I even had to skip this past month's Daring Baker challenge because I couldn't find time (it was an Orange Tian this month, and I still would like to try and veganize it.)

I put two new prints in the shop today! I obviously have spring on my mind lately, and I show you some doodles from my sketchbook soon too.

Happy Wednesday!

Morning!

Hello! Super-awesome morning here, filled with sunshine, no winter coats, and a big to-do list. I spent the weekend making a dozen or so mini (4"x4"!) veggie paintings to bring to Fuego this week. They are basically redos of my current veggie series, but I'm going to scan them later and upload because some are improvements! I'm going to do another dozen too, with a Brooklyn theme. I'll show you soon!

These three paintings here, I did a week ago, and the only one I am really happy with is the "Love" one, so that is the only one that I have put up in my shop thus far. I've been playing around with using some markers with watercolor and abstaining from using black. Hard for me! The others...I dunno yet. I have a whole bunch of sketchbook pages with this theme on them, so I'm just going to keep playing.

Happy Tuesday!

Some new things...

Hello! I wanted to share a few of my new paintings that I have been working super-hard on over the last few weeks. I have a thing for bears lately, if you couldn't tell. Will reveal the rest soon!

Things I'm excited about:

My group show this coming Saturday, Feb. 13th at Fuego 718, in Williamsburg, from 6-10pm. Come out for cupcakes and fun art!

Impending snowstorm! Woo! I was out of town for the last (and only one) we had this season, so I say BRING IT ON! (sorry to all those who are buried in snow already!)

Hooray for the new season of LOST!

Planning for my trip in April to Peru is FUN!

Display pics

Hello! This weekend was a happy one. Met so many nice people and got to see people's reaction to my work face-to-face, which was way interesting and entertaining. Lots of smiles and giggles make me happy! Everything went rather smoothly, except for a minor (okay, not so minor at the time) glitch with my tent. Let's just say that it was a good thing that the weather was PERFECT the entire weekend, or I would have had some serious trouble with it. Here are some pictures from my tent (and a random marching band that was circling the fair!):

Also had two new paintings that I did in the last few weeks, that I hadn't had time to photograph or scan. I quickly photographed them both saturday morning, just in case they sold, so I would have a record of them. Good thing I did, as "Love" sold! I'm going to take a better photo of Mister Whale this weekend.

I'm not gonna lie; I'm pretty excited to just SLEEP most of next weekend. I also cooked a real, full meal last night, for the first time in what seems like ages. Will post later!
