BUST Craftacular!

Hello! For the 5th year in a row, I'll be at booth #167 at the BUST Craftacular this weekend! It's a 2-day event, but I will just be there on Saturday. It's gonna be a super-fun time, and I hope you come say hi if you stop by!

Bust Craftacular 2009 and Give-away winner!!

Hello! I'm fully recovered now, from a totally awesome day at Bust's Holiday Craftacular, last Sunday. Lots of fun, happy people with incredibly nice things to say, lots of sales, awesome neighbors and location, and just overall good vibes everywhere. Bust even interviewed me! Thanksgiving '09 Foodz + Bust Craftacular

Hello! Hope you had a relaxing weekend with lots of yummy food and catchup sleep! I sure did, and am getting a bit sad-faced that Monday is almost here. I haven't reached the sick-of-leftovers phase yet, so I figured I should post about it now before I am!

I went with Bryanna Clark Grogan's Seitan tofurkey for the main in the roulade style (I super-spiced it up though, with fresh sage, rosemary, thyme, and garlic), roasted brussel sprouts (I shredded them up for extra-yumminess!), corn, mashed taters with mushroom and onion gravy (modified from VCON), stuffing, cranberries (with apples added! BUT, I forgot about them in the fridge, so we didn't get to eat them until the next day, with leftovers!), and Pumpkin Cheezecake Pie for dessert (and soyatoo on top!) with a homemade graham cracker crust. Everything was pretty successful and delicious! We didn't eat until 9ish at night, due to a little underestimation in the timing, but it was all good. Super-happy thanksgiving! Some pictures:

First off, this makes me sad. I carefully gessoed this piece of cedar, that I got at the farmer's market, and sketched everything all out. The next morning, there was this GIANT crack right down the middle of it and it keeps growing everyday. Boo!! Lesson learned: fresh cedar does not like me and my painterly ideas and impatient ways, and this is what i get for contributing to its downfall. :(

Yesterday was Dr. Sketchy's Anti-art school and Amelia Danger was the model, in full ballerina awesomeness. She was a great model; Sometimes a little too good, with some kinda unnaturally bendy poses that just made me look like I drew her wrong. Her outfit was pretty awesome also, paired with the pink and yellow lights. I forgot my brushes, so just pen this week. She's holding a metric-ton of tulle in both doodles. 10 min. and 20 min., respectively.



I bought a big paper bag of apples at the farmer's market yesterday, so they made their way into breakfast this morning: apple cinnamon pancakes. mmm...


This morning, I woke up all bleary-eyed and rushed a few blocks down to Warsaw for Bust's Spring Fling craft fair. Had to beat the crowds! I got there at 11:30 and it was already bustling. I got myself some yummy smelly things from Lollibomb's booth and called it a day. Lots of fun free things too.

I have a brand new painting that I will, hopefully, be able to scan tomorrow. It's a bit on the big side. This will be a busy week; trying to square a bunch of things away before I leave for Portland, OR on thursday night. Yay vacation!!
