2014 Freebie Holiday Gift Tags!

Hey friends! I have another freebie Holiday Gift tag this year for you. I loved wrapping my presents for my family and sticking these cute little dudes on them. Puts a fun little touch on them, without going all crazy (I'm not a very good wrapper...)

Just download the template (right click-->save as, and then open up in Acrobat. The print quality is better printing from Acrobat versus your web browser for some reason.) Get some white card stock and print away! I just cut them out and taped them onto my packages, but you can also use a hole-punch on the top to attach a festive string to tie to packages.

Renegade Brooklyn Holiday Show!

I'm so psyched for the very first HOLIDAY Renegade craft show, here in Brooklyn, this coming weekend! Renegade is always a good time, and I'm really glad they are doing a holiday show here this year, since it's hard for me to swing a trip to Chicago for the fair there, this close to the holidays. 2013 Calendar Time!

It's Calendar time! Three new calendars this year, one with all cats, one with all dogs, and one of my "regular" calendars that I make every year. Two sizes too. My main one is the usual 8"x10" and the Cat and Dog ones are smaller at 5"x8.5".  Super-psyched on these! Also, I feel like I have been working on these forevvvverrrrr, which I kinda have, because, um, 36 new illustrations! Sorry it's been a bit quiet around here lately; I've had my head down in my work lately, trying to get all my holiday stuff together (I know! Holiday!) Working on my calendars (yes, calendarS, meaning there will be multiple ones this year!) and contemplating holiday cards and whatnot. My goal is to have the calendars done before I head to Renegade Chicago (Sept. 8 + 9th). I think I can do it! Speaking of Renegade Chicago, I'm driving solo there this year, which is a little intimidating. I mean, the part where I have to entertain and navigate myself in a car for 14-ish hours is the intimidating part. There will be lots and lots of podcasts...

Hello! I hope your holidays are (were) great! I spent a long weekend in upstate NY with my family, with lots of laughter, good times, and yummy food. Hooray for family! I have a rather large family, so it's nice when we can all gather at once together. 

I'm really love this time of year, when I feel inspired and motivated for the upcoming year. I've been jotting down things that I really want to happen this year, business-wise and personal-wise. Holiday Cards!

Hello!  I'm pretty psyched about my holiday cards this year.  I think my favorite is the fox (also, I want a stripey scarf with those colors), but then maybe the penguins are my favorites too.  I brought back my cutie-cat Hanukkah card also (spin, dreidel, spin!)   

This is always such a busy time of year for me, and I really tried to get a jump on it this year, but here we are, two weeks before Thanksgiving!  I might have something secret cooking up for a day after Thanksgiving sale, so make sure you're signed up for my mailing list if you want to be in the know!

2012 Wall Calendar and New Prints!

2012 Wall Calendar, available here in my shop.

So this is what I have been working feverishly on for the last couple months, my 2012 calendar!  As has been a bit of a tradition over the last couple years, I created 12 brand new illustrations, surrounding some sort of theme for my calendar.  I've been feeling a bit daring lately, and dreaming about all sorts of magical lands and fun times that I want to experience, so I hereby declare this year the YEAR OF ADVENTURE!  Yep, that's right!  Adventure doesn't have to mean traveling to a foreign land or jumping off a plane, it can also mean taking a different route home or just having no plan whatsoever for an evening and seeing where it takes you.  So hooray, I'm super-happy about this coming year and really excited about how my calendar came out!

2012 Calendar Sneak-peek

Hello!  I have been hard at work on my latest series, twelve new prints that will also be part of my 2012 (yikes!) calendar, and I thought I would give a little sneak peek at a few of them.  I'm trying to finish them all in time for Chicago Renegade, which is coming up in a few weeks (double yikes!), along with all the other holiday goodies that I have been working on (plus a top-secret project!)  So yes, it's been all workworkwork lately, but I'm really into it so it's been fun!

Summer fruit season is the best!

I sometimes forget about holidays like the 4th of July, Memorial day, Labor Day, etc. since I work for myself.  Actually, I'm usually only aware because the Post Office will be closed and I have to plan around that.  Nik likes to work these holidays too (since his office is quiet and he can get stuff done) and he can just take a swap day for any random day off then.  Thus, I don't really celebrate these types of holidays, since I'd be celebrating by myself anyways! 

I can definitely get behind long summer weekends though, and I plan to enjoy this moderate NYC summer while it lasts.  I'm working at the shop on Governors Island this Saturday and plan to soak in the sun (and get some work done) the rest of the weekend.

Happy Holidays!

Hello!  Just wanted to wish everyone a happy holidays and give a big fat thank you for reading my blog this past year! You are super-awesome!

I'm all cozy at my parent's house right now, with the christmas tree all lit up, a light snow coming down outside, and a kitty cat curled up next to me. Hooray!  I love the holidays, but haven't had much of a chance to enjoy them this month, so I'm taking full advantage this weekend while with my family.  I hope you have a good one! Eat lots of cookies!

VeganMofo 2010: Obligatory Thanksgiving Dinner Post

Ohh, so full!  So much food! I love having leftovers for a week. Well, I'll be saying that for a few days at least, and then I'll get sick of them and order a pizza or something. :)

I made Bryanna's Seitan Tofurkey (which mysteriously isn't online anymore, i don't think? I couldn't find it on her site, since she took all her recipes down, but I had it written down from previous years.), mashed 'taters, stuffing, corn (this where I feel super-smart, and pulled some of the corn I froze from the summertime!), and cranberries. I was going to make roasted brussel sprouts, but I decided to save them for leftovers, to mix it up a bit.  Pumpkin pie for dessert!

So I have to take a 'MoFo break and tell you about the things I have been working on for my Etsy Shop.  I've made some one-of-a-kind ornaments, all painted with watercolors on gesso, and measuring approx. 2.5" across.  I'm super-excited about their cuteness!  There are eleven for now, though I do have some blank canvasses still, which I'm contemplating.   There are only one of each available, and I think they would make a perfect gift for a coworker, family member, friend, or to add to your own ornament collection!  Available in the shop.
