Nik and I recently got to check out the new vegan chocolate cafe, and we picked up a few select chocolates. This was a few weeks ago, so I only slightly remember the names of each, but here goes nothing:
Peanut Butter (Nik tried this one and didn't like it; said it was dry)
Chocolate covered edamame (was my favorite)
Jasmine (It was okay, nothing special)
goji berry and vegan bacon (disgusting! I spit it out! I NEVER spit out chocolate!)
So, alas, although pretty, I think they need to iron out their flavors a bit more before I would go back. I did get a few more flavors, not photographed, and I don't even remember what they were. I did pick up some of their spicy hot cocoa mix and this stuff is AMAZING! Super-spicy and flavorful, you only need a little bit. Hot cocoa is the best.
Here's some tester food from Celine and Joni's last book of Vegan Subsitutions.

Super-nice Boyfriend
Nik had the day off the other day, and stopped off at the Grand Central Food Market Terminal to buy some amaaaaaazing chocolates for me. He's the best! He got a dark chocolate-almond bark and dark chocolate covered marzipan. I can't even describe how absolutely DELICIOUS this was. Yaay to nice boyfriends! :)

I was putting together some ornaments the other night and where there is ribbon involved, Miles is too. Seriously, the minute I bring out the ribbon, he shows up right next to me to "help out." Cutie-pants!

Happy sunday folks!

For real. I covered everything with chocolate this holiday season.
Chocolate covered cherries:
Choc.-covered mixed nuts:
Chocolate Covered Candied Orange Peels (from My Sweet Vegan):
Chocolate Almond Biscotti (recipe from Vcon, but Almonds instead of hazelnuts):
Sparkling Ginger Cookies (from Vwav):
TRUFFLES!
Chocolate, grand marnier, olive oil, with cocoa, sea salt, powdered sugar
Chocolate with Kahlua, covered in cocoa, powdered sugar, cinnamon
Chocolate covered in coconut:
Peanut Butter and Chocolate covered in pecans:
I made the spekulatius Butter from Seitan is my Motor's blog! I read this entry and then found these cookies at the Union Square Holiday Market (there is a little german booth that sells sweets and cider). I thought that it must be meant to be, so I promptly bought some. Yum!

Happy holidays everyone!!
