Mythology is weird!

The Mythical Unicorn

New stuff! OMG! I've been working on this series for a few months now, and I have finally gotten around to photographing them and getting them listed in the shop. Woo! Mythology is weird and super-fun and have I mentioned it is weird? Seriously, you can get lost down the interweb-hole reading different myths. I decided to start a continuous series on this theme, and started out with some of the more well-known ones. I hope to do many more (of the lesser-known, insanely weird ones too!)

Craft Show prep

Sorry for the bad lighting in the photos, but I've been burning the midnight oil lately, prepping for Renegade Brooklyn (it's this coming weekend!) I have a bunch of new prints (a few of them are above and I'm SUPER-excited about them), and I've been making lots of cards, prints, wingpins, and other fun stuff. Make, make, make. I've been trying to really amp up my display this year also, so I decided to paint a new sign. I took some progress shots below! It's still not done, but I should be able to finish it in time...

You knew I'd be adding hot pink right?

Kitty toes! Always adorable! Also, he likes to lay all over my tablet and keyboard. King of the castle!

Sammy Narwhal

Sammy Narwal in his magical place.

Hello and Happy Friday to you. I have a new painting to share! I've been trying to paint more these days, and get myself away from the computer (not that the computer is a bad thing, but you know, paint!) I am pretty excited about this print, as it gives me a little bit of spring fever, even though all the blooms are underwater. I really would love to go scuba diving someday and find a magical colorful place like this. Anyways, a print of this painting is available and Sammy Narwhal is eagerly awaiting Spring just like me (Daytime savings is this weekend! Don't forget to change your clocks forward!)

Print is available in the shop here.

I'll Sleep When I Die

I'll Sleep When I Die, new print in the shop!

I often think of this phrase, during super-busy times (which seems to be all the time lately...) A bit morbid maybe, but when the days go by without enough hours in the day to get all that I want to accomplish done, I can't help but find sleeping just getting in the way! Don't get me wrong, I lovvvve to sleep (and I do it well!), but I also love what I do for a living and sometimes I just have so many ideas on the table and so few hours in the daytime. I'm sure you can relate, right?

I want to thank everyone who bought something from me during my holiday sale this past weekend, or at anytime in the past. I really appreciate it and am super-grateful to be able to do what I love for a living and to make people happy and smiley with my work. Warm fuzzies!

Sweet Dreams!

Pink/Purple Dreamcatcher available here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/73578869/dreamcatcher-pink-8x10-art-print

Dreamcatchers have caught my fascination lately.  Ever since I read this blog post over at Modish, I've been wanting to make one (she makes the "feathers" out of of cardboard, so they are vegan-friendly!) and have been doodling them in my sketchbook.   I finally finished a drawing of one and I'm pretty into it! I made two versions, a pink/purple one and a teal/green one.  Dreamcatchers are said to let the good dreams through and "catch" the bad dreams in its web, so you can have some sweet dreams.  I like that!

Kitty Flop!

Kitty Flop!  Print now available in my shop.
In case you haven't noticed by now, I am a big kitty cat fan.  Furry ones, chubby ones, skinny ones, little ones, big ones, shy ones, crazy ones: I love them all! Certified cat-lover.  I love the little things they do, like stretching out their toes, yawning, the mischievous eyes, the love nuzzles, and the kitty flop. My cat, Miles, is pretty good at the kitty flop, and he's a little on the chubby side so it's even better. Three cheers for kitties!

p.s. Happy Monday!  I'm excited to go to the Etsy Symposium tomorrow!  I'll be sure to report back on the sure-to-be-amazing speakers they have scheduled!

Serenity Now!

First off, happy Friday!  The upside of the 19 inches of snow that fell a few days ago, is that I haven't really left the apartment, but have been super-productive.  Gotta look on the bright side (even if I'm fuh-reezing!)

I am totally a little hippy girl at heart. Give me some trees, sunshine, some friends, and some good tunes and I am SET. Thus this print is born.  I've been trying to incorporate more people into my work lately, and I think this girl is a cutie!  Print is available in my shop.

Here's to a long, warm, and cozy weekend (and no more snow, jeez!)

New 'lil smart friend!

Hey there! Happy Friday!

I have a new print in the shop today, a cute 'lil smarty-pants! I have been trying to think of more boy-friendly prints. It's harder than you think! I've worked for 5 years designing for girls and I have all sisters! More robots?? Anyways, I think he's super-cute. :)

Happy weekend ahead!
xoxo
