Happy Vday!

Belated, but I hope you had a love-filled day yesterday! I made some homemade Spinach-Mushroom-Tofu-Ricotta ravioli's (heart-shaped of course), and a key-lime pie for dessert.  I used Vegan Dad's pasta recipe and just kinda made up my own tofu ricotta with added mushrooms and spinach. Key-lime pie from Vegan Pie in the Sky! Delicious!

I've been meaning to do a much more updated version for a long time now, and I finally made that happen this year. Kitties and dinos, because they're awesome. And they are so MINI, like 2 inches square! Squee!

  Did you give out mini valentines back in grade school?  I used to spend so much time writing them all out and carefully selecting which design would go to which classmate. Fun!

Custom Poloroid Portraits!

I have a fun little Valentine project I have been working on; custom portraits! I made these four different ones to choose from, and they can all be customized with your names, adding/subtracting glasses, making them girl/boy, girl/girl, or boy/boy, and changing colors. They come in a 5"x5" print format and are available in my shop.   I'm SUPER excited about them!

Happy Love Day!

Aww. 

Happy V-day!  My valentine portrait that I made for Nik has been given, so it's safe to write this blog post about it now!   I hope everyone had a great day, whether it be a sappy, lovey-dovey version, or just a regular old Monday of the awesome-variety! 

Nik and I don't really "celebrate" valentine's day or anything, but I had been wanting to do a portrait of us anyways, so it was a good excuse.  We went and had yummy Mexican food Saturday night and watched The Kite Runner (disappointing, since I super-loved the book.)  Also, we are obsessed with the series, Weeds.  It's so funny!

I went to Dr. Sketchy's yesterday, for the Valentine's session with Raquel Reed. She is super-pretty and fun to draw!  Also, she's a really good model and holds her poses and has great costumes, so she gets and A+ in my book.  Here's a sketch I did:

Hello! Happy day of love! It's such a lazy, sunny day out today, perfect for baking in the sun-filled kitchen (the only room in my apartment that gets sun-filled *sadface*). My 'lil show was last night, and it was super-fun! Lots of people showed up and there were yummy cupcakes and wine for everyone! I took some (bad) photos of my 'lil display (skulls aren't mine, but everything under them is, and I didn't get a picture of the other two artist's stuff that was there), and some of my yummy vegan cupcakes (chocolate with blackberry jam and pretty pink frosting and chocolate sprinkles). Lots of good feedback on my work and lots of merch was sold. Woohoo!





Brunch this morning! Made some delicious hash browns with some homemade chunky applesauce and nice big pot of earl grey tea. Today will be a sad day of doing my taxes, but I think I am going to have to make some Chai rolls to cheer me up later. Have a beautiful day!

Shop Update!

Helloooo, happy sunday!

I've been *super* busy painting over here, for the last few weeks. 11 new paintings done, 5 or so left by this wednesday. I can dooooo it! I took a little break today, to mega-update my Etsy Shop with allll the prints from the "Friends Forever" series, plus some valentines, and a few little mini framed originals. Huzzah!

I puffy heart you

So this is another sneak preview to a new card set in my shop. You know, for that barfy-lovey holiday coming up. I like to send cards to friends, but I'm not really into the whole "romantic" aspect of V-day, so I keep it on the lighter side in my hearts and love paintings. I actually associate Valentine's Day with V-day, meaning "The Vagina Monologues." I was in the play back in college and that meant a whole, whole lot to me (I don't even know how I got involved in that; I am SOO usually not brave enough for public speaking, let alone in an acting sense!) College and a good cause makes you braver I guess.

I hope to list the cards on Saturday! I'm hoping for some natural light to take pictures in, and I always get home when it's dark out during the week *grumblegrumble*
