Hello 2013!

Hello 2013! This past year was pretty rad in its own right, but I'm optimistic that this shiny new year before us will bring the awesome like nobody's business.  I'm thinking this will be the year of big changes. I have lots of plans for my business in the coming year, getting rid of the old and bringing in the new.  I'm starting a 365 project that I am hell-bent on sticking to (stay tuned!) I'm getting married to my best friend this year (May 4th, whaaaaat?!) Maybe this will be the year that we finally move out of  NYC (Brooklyn, I love you so very much, it's not you, it's me.)

Here's to adventures and many moments bursting with fun!
xoxo,
Michelle

p.s. I am starting a 365 project for realsies, stay tuned soon for another post!

2010: You were Awesome! 2011: You better be Awesome too!

Dudes, this year was awesome. Like, really-super-mega-awesome!  I love this time of year when there is a general hopefulness and positive energy buzzing around everyone.  Bringing in the new year is pretty darn inspiring!

I made this post one year ago today, of my goals and resolutions for 2010, and I think I did a pretty good job taking care of business!  Lemmesee:

So with that, I welcome 2011 wholeheartedly with a new set of goals and resolutions!  I like to hang this near my desk all year as a daily reminder!

2010 Personal New Year's Resolutions

So I have been thinking that I have worked a LOT this past year, and the imbalance of work/play has been drastically skewed. With this in mind, my resolutions this year are to bring more balance to my life, not necessarily by working less, but by weeding out some of the wasted time (I'm looking at you internet!) in favor of fun things that are new to me or that I haven't done in a long time (and that make me happy! Sometimes you forget how certain things make you so happy!) Quitting my day job is a big goal for me this year, as it's been really difficult to balance a full-time job and then come home and work on my personal business and then any freelance work that I have. Don't you just hate it when those pesky day-jobs get in the way?! I know that I'm lucky to work in a creative field, but after five years, it has taken it's toll on me and I'm ready for a change. Plus, the fashion industry isn't really where I want to be anymore. It's just overcoming that security job fear and taking that leap that stands in my way. Anyways, I started thinking of all the FUN things that I want to do or feel like I'm missing out on and decided to make them my resolutions for this year. I made a little doodle so that I can hang it up above my desk at home as a reminder too.

I hope everyone has a fantastic New Year and I want to thank you for reading my silliness and looking at my photos and art this past year. Hooray 2010! (don't you just love the positivity that comes with a New Year? Yay momentum!)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! Today was a great day for the new year. Nik and I went out to dinner last night and stayed local at a bar nearby to ring in the new year. So much fun! I slept in superrrrr late today and made a fabulous brunch of chocolate chip pancakes and a tasty smoothie (1 frozen banana + 9 frozen strawberries + 1 orange + 2 tbs. of pineapple juice concentrate + a couple tsp. of flax seed + enough soy milk and cold water to fill 3/4 of the mixture in the blender=the PERFECT amount for two people. mmm). I spent most of the day making Isa Pizza, from VWAV. I made my own dough, pesto, cashew ricotta, and pizza sauce ALL in the new vita-mix. Fantastic! I like how it keeps dishes to a minimum too. And I've never had a good enough blender to make pizza before! So exciting! And it makes it in like 2 seconds! Okay, I'll stop talking about it now. I'm sure the novelty of it will wear off soon (no it won't.) I used the new pizza stone and it made some to-die for pizza. Nik proclaimed this "the best pizza ever." nom nom.

I've been painting most of the night, so I shall have some new goodies to scan in and share with everyone tomorrow! Happy night!
